Anthony Gross and Jen Wu
temporarycontemporary, London

Located in a 4000 sq ft warehouse in South East London, temporarycontemporary is an independent art space founded in Feb 2004 by artists and Goldsmiths graduates Anthony Gross and Jen Wu.

They have fast developed an international reputation for producing innovative exhibitions working with the newest generation of forward-thinking artists and curators. In its two-year history, temporarycontemporary has produced over 20 exhibitions in the UK, Europe and China, received support from Arts Council England and local government bodies as well as coverage in the Guardian and Evening Standard and local culture guides such as TimeOut and kultureflash.

Currently pioneering new collaborations with art spaces in China, Anthony and Jen were awarded a prestigious British Council residency in 2005 to do artistic and curatorial research in China through the ‘Artist Links’ program, supported by the British Council and Arts Council England.

Working with cutting-edge Chinese artists and art organisations temporarycontemporary organised an extensive China tour of the international video exhibition Biennale! Artist Film & Video - originally curated and shown in London. This tour included the production of a dual language catalogue and built relationships with support agencies and production companies across China. Metropolis Rise: New Art from London has been made possible through continued collaborations.

Both Anthony and Jen are exhibiting professionally with recent exhibitions including a public commission for the London underground (Anthony Gross Digital Forest - Platform for Art, Piccadilly Circus); a collaboration with Chinese art collective Redskyart for the 2nd Guangzhou Triennale; and The Chinese Arts Centre, Manchester (Jen Wu, Reassurance, 2005).
